To further enhance the fire safety awareness of international students and improve their ability to respond to sudden fires, on the afternoon of November 11th, the International Students College, in collaboration with the school's security department, organized international students to conduct a fire drill in Yejing Building.
First, the international students watched an evacuation drill. After the alarm sounded, the counselors and security personnel in the teaching building immediately activated the emergency response plan. All personnel quickly and orderly evacuated along the pre - determined evacuation routes. In just two minutes, all the trapped people safely evacuated to the designated assembly area without anyone left behind.
After the evacuation drill, a practical fire extinguisher operation drill was carried out. The officers and soldiers from the Fire and Rescue Brigade of Hunnan District systematically explained to the international students the working principle, scope of application, and precautions for using dry - powder fire extinguishers in combination with common fire types on campus. Under the professional guidance of the firefighters, the representatives of international students took turns to conduct practical operations. They calmly followed the operating instructions, held the fire extinguishers, aimed at the base of the fire source, and decisively sprayed, quickly extinguishing the raging flames.
Through this fire drill, the international students not only mastered the correct way to use fire extinguishers but also improved their practical ability to respond to sudden fires through personal experience. It effectively enhanced the students' safety awareness and self - rescue and mutual - rescue skills, laying a solid foundation for creating a safe and stable campus environment.(撰稿人:张荣海;摄影:张荣海;通讯员:邢慧轩;审核:邵秀娟)
