On the afternoon of March 18th, Police Officer Hu Wanqing, a first-level police chief from the Foreigners' Management Team of the Division of Exit-Entry Administration of Public Security Bureau of Shenyang, was invited by the International Students College to give a special lecture on laws and regulations to 148 new students from 22 countries and regions in the 306 Lecture Hall. The lecture was hosted by counselor Wang Mingyu.
To help the international students whose native language is French better understand the relevant policies, simultaneous French interpretation was provided for this lecture, which was highly recognized and praised by the officer. The French interpretation was provided by counselor Tang Boren.
Firstly, Shao Xiujuan, Dean of International Students College,made a brief speech. She emphasized to the international students the necessity of abiding by the law in China, encouraged them to integrate actively, study hard, and strive to become messengers of friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries.
Secondly, Police Officer Hu Wanqing introduced legal knowledge closely related to international students from eight aspects, including "accommodation registration", "illegal employment", "drug issues", "avoiding fraud", and "nighttime disturbance". At the same time, he detailedly interpreted the Exit-Entry Administration Law, visa policies, and other relevant matters by combining typical cases of international students in universities, and highlighted the legal risk points that international students often overlook. He particularly emphasized the importance of daily attendance for international students and hoped that they would cherish the opportunity to study and live in China.
During the question-and-answer session after the lecture, the international students actively and enthusiastically asked questions, and Police Officer Hu Wanqing patiently answered the questions raised by the international students, such as visa extension and accommodation registration for traveling.
This special lecture on laws and regulations not only helped international students quickly understand the laws and regulations closely related to their study and life in China, but also conveyed humanistic care through refined services, enabling them to engage in their study and life with a more positive attitude.
